I decided to start a new section on this blog about tailgating at the Phillies games. This post will be just some of the basic must haves when tailgating, and future posts will be different tailgating ideas.
MUST HAVE:
- Cooler with ice and your choice beverages. Recommend: COLD BEER
- Grill
- Chairs
- EZ up Tent
- Radio with iPod dock
- Tables
- Garbage Bags
- Rain gear is usually a good idea as well
- Snacks
- Hamburger, hot dogs, sausage or any other favorites on the grill
- Phillies flag, shirts, chairs, paint, sticker and anything else Phillies related
These are just some of the basics to get you started for a great pregame tailgating session but I will add more posts about other ideas.

Definitely all essentials for a good tailgate, especially the cold beer. Maybe you should put after that - lots of it. More and more I have been seeing tailgaters bringing televisions with them, maybe its because they are flat now people think they are mobile, and a lot of them set up a satellite dish and manually point it to get television. Working for DISH I have had many calls on this, where I might think its easy, first time people might not. DISH has a solution for that now as well, aptly called The Tailgater, and all you do is point it at the southern sky and run the setup, it does the rest. This should make many tailgaters happy.
