Today's game is the all-Pennsylvania game as the Philadelphia Phillies travel across the state to play the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Also Shane Victorino returns from the DL in tonight's game which is great news for the Phillies lineup.

Jeff Karstens took the mound for the Pirates and Cole Hamels for the Phillies.  Shane Victornio came up to bat for the first time back from the DL in the first inning and hit the third out but still had a good at bat.  Cole Hamels pitched a great 1st inning as re retired the Pirates in order.  Karstens also pitched a great 1st and 2nd inning only allowing one hit.

Cole Hamels gave up the Pirates first hit of the game in the 4th inning as he was pitching a great game.  He went on to hit a single for the Phillies in the 6th inning continuing to have an all around great game.

In the top of the 8th inning Cole Hamels hit another single to continue his great hitting and pitching game.  Jose Contreras replaced Cole Hamels in the 9th inning as the game was still tied at 1.  When Derek Jones was announced as a pinch hitter Charlie Manuel decided to bring in Antonio Bastardo to pitch in the 9th.  The Phillies did not allow the Pirates to score so the game went into extra innings.
